Are Legal Fees deductable for quit claim deed dispute?

Bought home together with a friend. After several years we have parted ways and he has quit claimed deed over to me. 12 years later he has filed a lawsuit stating that he has not done so.
Are legal fees tax deductible in miscellaneous deductions?
