How can I get a home equity loan using my mobile home as collateral
I own a mobile home and the 1/2 acre that it is on out right and I would like to take out an equity loan against the house and property. It is a second home and my reason for wanting the loan is to consolidate my debt that I have built up over the last 10 years. I would also like to use some of the loan to help pay for my wedding that I plan to have in the next two years. I have about $10,000 of debt and I would like another $10,000 for the wedding. The mobile home and property was appraised at about $40,000 and since then I have made some improvements to the landscaping and a large amount of renovations to the interior of the house. I have done a complete bathroom renovation, all new laminate wood floors throughout the whole house, new oak kitchen cabinets, etc. I believe the value of the house has gone up since it was last appraised due to all of the improvements. Every bank that I went to denied my loan request due to the fact that they don't consider mobile homes as equity and so here I am. My household income is about $70,000, my credit score is about 650, I estimate that my house and property are worth about $55,000, I want to borrow at least $10,000 and up to whatever I can get and I can provide a cosigner if needed. Any info and/or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
