Do I need a capacity assesssment to qualify for a reverse mortgage?

I am 62 and my husband 65. We are professionals still at our jobs, sel employed, and plan to stay at it for a while. We are applying for a reverse mortgage but I was told I need a letter from a doctor saying that I am not disable. Is it part of the requirements?
