how I can do to remove that debt from my credit without affecting my property rights.

I would greatly appreciate if you could answer the question. A year ago I divorced and I have the title to the house. My ex husband was forced to make total payments of the house (main duties, taxes, insurance). The question now is that the debt of the house is 300,000 dollars and appears on my credit. I wonder how I can do to remove that debt from my credit without affecting my property rights.

If you owe the debt, then you will have to pay it off in full in order to remove the lien from your property. Once you pay off the debts in full, you will receive a lien release certificate from the lien holder and no one will be able to come after your property.

If your husband has paid off the debt in full, then it shouldn't appear on your credit report. Even if it appears, it should be mentioned that it is paid off. You should contact the lender in order to check out the status of the account. Then you can ask the credit bureau to update the status of that account in your credit report.

Floria,

I am a licensed mortgage banker in the state of Florida and deal with these types of issues all the time. I am happy to help you but require more information from you. Please respond to the following questions and I will be happy to assist you:

Were you on the original mortgage?

Was your husband required to pay off the home entirely?

Are you saying you still see a mortgage trade line on your credit report?

If it is easier please click on my profile and contact me directly and I will answer all your questions.

Brian
