why would I have a problem with my loan not being reaffirmed after a refinance?

Filed bankruptcy in 2009, lawyer made the mistake of not reaffirming my mortgage. In 2012 I found this out when i was trying to refinance my home. I had SO much trouble because of this. Somehow the new bank got it done, and payments were being reported to the credit bureaus. Now August of 2014, the loan was sold and I am somehow back to square one. Bank says loan wasn't reaffirmed, quit reporting to the credit bureaus and will not help me in the venture of buying a new home....they say there is nothing they can do. How can this be? Since my original loan that was included in bankruptcy has since been paid and a new loan was obtained, I don't understand. Also, my payments have ALWAYS been paid and on time every month, even during the bankruptcy.
