Please I'm loosing my mind,I just completed a 6mo forbearance and was told my case is now with the underwriters which you can't speak to.I'm going crazy.If they forclose I loose everything and my credit is shot any apartment complex runs a credit check I'm afraid we'll be declined I'm at wits end about to go over the edge what do I do please somebody help!!!! WF told us that they would help but now I'm not so sure what do I do?

Yes, a loan modification is certainly a better option than foreclosure. The negative impact of mortgage modification is much less than that of foreclosure.

You can apply with the lender for an extended forebearance. It will be the lender's discretion as to whether or not he will consider that option. Apart from that, you can also apply for HAMP and check out if you can qualify for it. Never lose your patience.
