Apply for credit card now?

Hello… I’m in deep problem!! There are many state tax liens filed against me due to a failed business. But, I am on a payment plan in order to clean up all these state tax liens. Presently, I have no credit cards at all and nothing negative on my CR except for these state tax liens. I would like to take the next step to repair my credit. Will it be a good option to apply for a credit card now? Or do I need to wait till I pay off the state tax liens in full?

Hi Shannon, It's really good to know that you want to take steps in order to improve your credit situation. As you're already paying off the state tax liens through a payment plan, it will be a good option to apply for a credit card now. It will be better if you could apply for a secured credit card.
