I HAVE POOR CREDIT, BUT HAVE GOOD STANDING WITH VA PURCHASES IN THE PAST.

Hi

It'll not be easy at all to get a VA mortgage with a poor credit. You are generally required to have a credit score of around 620 in order to get approved for a VA loan. How poor is your credit? is it less than 620? Do you have any bad items on your credit report like a previous foreclosure, short sale, bankruptcy etc?
