My husband and I own a condo. He is the sole name on our first and second mortgage. The deed is in both of our names. We are trying to determine whether any foreclosure or short sale will affect my credit rating or otherwise show up on my records. Any information would be appreciated.

Hi ketaylor,

As your name is not on the mortgage doc, then a short sale or a foreclosure will not affect you in any way. It will only affect your husband's credit report.
