My fiance and his ex have a mortgage in both names. He co-signed a mortgage for his son and the son is behind on his mortgage. Due to this, my fiance can not get his home refinanced. Is there any way to legally remove his ex from the mortgage without refinancing? The mortgage is with a "loan servicing" company and not a traditional mortgage company.
