I recently applied for a loan and i agreed on the terms which were 25% down $54 K financed for 30 years on a fixed rate of 5.75. The mortgage company changed the terms without notifing me and went ahead and ordered an appraisal. When they told me of the change which was 30% down i said i was not in agreement, they told me that i was still responsible for the appraisal fee of $548. Do i have any consumer rights to get my appraisal reemburst. I feel they should not have ordered the appraisal until they had disclosed the changes to me and i was in agreement. What course of action can i take??

Need expert advice

Hi army,

I agree with you that your lender should have disclosed the changes to you and then ordered an appraisal for the property. However, as far as I know, you won't be reimbursed for the appraisal. You can always contact an attorney and take his opinion in this regard. He would be the best person to let you know as to what steps you need to take.
