Hi ke6yl,

You will have to contact an appraiser who will help you in appraising the property. As far as I know, the cost of appraisal will depend upon various factors and may even vary from one state to another.

you can check with a local lender you may have done business with to see if you can be referred to an appraiser. i would think you'd rather have an opinion of the market value rather than a full appraisal based on your intent.

if your daughter will be seeking a mortgage, one of the requirements will be for an appraisal; but at this stage, you simply want to assess the value of the home for your own purposes.

have a realtor do a market analysis for you, also, if you can.
