My bro wife was selling a house in AZ, and ask if I wanted to buy it. My BF and I moved in, I gave my bro and his wife $25,000 ck. and they were suppose to sign the deed over to me. it never happen. I wrote up a note saying I gave them the money and I would take over the payments. She saw the note and wanted to make a couple of changes. when she gave me back the note it said I owed her another $30,000. I told her that was not the deal. Meanwhile, me and my BF broke up, he left. We lived in the house for about 6 months, I wanted out of the deal. My brother told me don't worry I will give you the money back. but his wife said no! it was a deal. It's been almost 2 yrs and I have not heard nothing from them. I don't know what to do.

Hi honeybee,

Have you signed the agreement which mentioned that you owe $30,000 more to your brother and his wife? If not, then you are not liable to pay them a penny. As far as the payment that you've already made them is concerned, you can contact them and ask them to return the money back to you. If they are not ready to return the money to you, then you can contact an attorney and take his opinion in this matter.

Thanks

Forget this "then you can contact an attorney..."

You need to contact an attorney immediately. You're out $25000, and you're still waiting patiently 2 years later for return of the funds, which your sister in law has already indicated isn't going to happen.

What more do you need to wait for? Why have you not acted yet?
