If a person still owes money after chapter 13 discharge but only paid secured portion, can we pursue for balance?

Hi sharon,

A person is no longer accountable for unsecured debts if he has been discharged from bankruptcy. This means the lender cannot come after him for the unsecured portion of the debt after the discharge from the chapter 13 bankruptcy. If the debt is a secured on, the creditors can come after the collateral. But they cannot sue the borrower.
