I am on the note for a joint mortgage for a home that I was awarded in the divorce. He filed bankruptcy...making me fully responsible for morgage..which is fine..however will i have to remortgage or reaffirm the mortgage since he filed? Does he has to reaffirm since i make the payments, joint mortgage and the house was awarded to me? I dont know if he listed the property as an asset or if he can legally list it. Had decree recorded immediately after divorce
hi michigander!

welcome to forums!

if the property is in your name, then you are the owner of the house. you can refinance the loan in your name and start paying off the dues. if you are the owner of the property, then he won't be ale to list the house as his asset.

feel free to ask if you've further queries.
