My wife and I have been married for 5 years and were making good money. Then came the hit - I lost my job and later on took a job paying way less than what I was making. I had to keep my house and my wife's car payments current so I quit paying the cards. I tried for a settlement the CC companies and the collections but it did not go through. Last date of activity on most of the accounts is April 2011. I’m just wondering if bankruptcy is in my best interest to deal with this.

Hi Bruce,

Though bankruptcy is the last option that you should think off, as your creditors and collection agency has refused to consolidate the debts, it will be in your good interest to file bankruptcy. You should contact a local bankruptcy attorney and discuss your case with him. He will suggest you which chapter of bankruptcy filing will be best suited for you.

Thanks,

Jerry

Hi Bruce,

Keeping your situation in mind, I think filing bankruptcy will be the best option for you. This will help you in getting rid of the unsecured debts and you will be able to avoid the harassing collection calls.

Thanks
