Me and my wife owned a townhouse and we decided to separate and move out. At that time, we refinanced and my son moved in and his name is now on the mortgage. Wifes name is still on the deed. After we divorce, is wife entitled to any of that property? Her name is on the deed. If she files bankruptcy will that affect son's credit or will he have to move out of the townhouse. Thanks.

Hi nbranklin,

As your wife's name is mentioned on the property deed, she is entitled to a share of the property as she will be considered one of the owners of the property. However, if your wife files bankruptcy alone, then your son's credit won't be affected.

Thanks
