Hi solomon!

Welcome to forums!

I hope your name is on the property deed. In that case, you can file a partition law suit at the court. With the court order, your property will be sold off and the loan would be paid off. If there is any excess amount, then it would be distributed amongst both of you.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

I live in Maryland. I was engaged and bought a house with my Ex Fiance about 3 yrs. ago. It has been up for sale for over 1 yr and I do not live there but I still pay him to help him with the Mortgage which my name is NOt on, ONLY the deed. I help him because its easier then being bothered all the time threatened ect., but its getting had to help an I just want to move on.
My question is can I remove my name from the property by myself without his signature since I am NOT on the mortgage??

Hi JLO!

Welcome to forums!

As your name is not on the mortgage docs, then you are not responsible for paying the loan in any way. The lender will not be able to ask you for payments. If you want to remove your name from the property deed, then you can sign a quit claim deed and transfer the property to him.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

I am 1/3 owner of a house. The other 2/3's are owned by my 2 brothers. I want to tranfer my 1/3 into one of the other owners name and take my name off of the deed. My name is not on the motgage. What would be the best way?

Hi Jimmy,

You can sign a quit claim deed and transfer your share of the property to the other owners' name. Then the deed needs to be recorded at the county recorder's office where the property is located.

Hi sigmoid,

If your name is still mentioned on the property deed, then the bills will come in your name. You need to surrender the property to the lender and he needs to sell it off, in order to remove your name from the property deed.

Thanks

Hi Deyenna!

Welcome to forums!

You can sign a quitclaim deed and transfer the property to your boyfriend's mother. This will make her the sole owner of the property and you won't be liable for the property in any way.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
