We tried to sell it via land-contract, but that ended without a purchase. Now we are faced with foreclosure and he is filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy and including the house. The home is in Ohio. As your ex-husband is filing bankruptcy Chapter 7, he will get a discharge from the liability of paying off the mortgage. Thus, you'll become solely liable for paying off the mortgage if your name is mentioned on the mortgage docs. After the foreclosure sale, you'll be liable for paying off the deficient balance resulting from the sale of the property. Feel free to ask if you've further queries. Sussane
