I've discussed several times with my mortgage company to get an 30 day extension to catch up so that my payments are no longer behind 30 days. What I'm being told is the only way that this can happen is if I fall behind several months. Any advice would help because we have come to no resolve with the company.

Hi Cedjjones,

Welcome to the forum.

How did you get behind in your mortgage payments?

I don't think they will allow you 30 day extension now. But I think you can save the money that you are now behind and pay it with your monthly payments. Consult with your company if that is possible or not.

Best of luck,
Larry

Most mortgage companies will not give an extention. It will be reported on your credit report as 30 days late. It is not as bad to have have consecutive 30 day lates as it would be to fall behind 60 days or more. The only thing you can do is to continue making the payments as you have and make an extra payment when possible. So not fall further behind. If you go 60 days late they may stop taking payments from you and intiate foreclosure. Sorry there are don't seem to be other options right now but I hope you are able to get caught up soon.
