I live in NY but bought a home in Florida in 2009..I applied and received the $8k 1st time homebuyers credit but unfortunately I was unable to relocate to Florida as yet..Will be doing so by Jan 4th 2011..
Question : Does the $8k have to be repaid because it took me over a year to relocate???

Hi sil!

Welcome to forums!

I don't think you'll have to repay the tax credit. Nevertheless, you should contact a tax adviser and take his opinion in this matter.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
