Hi… I'm purchasing a property. I heard about homeowner's insurance. Can I shop for homeowners insurance on my own? How can I get low premium?

Hi Jacob,

You should shop for your homeowner’s insurance on your own. You can contact insurance companies in this regard. If you wish to get lowest premium, you must be very careful to compare the deductible and the coverages offered by various insurance companies.

Take care

If you contact you auto carrier, you might get the best pricing since you would be adding multiple policies. For any property that has a mortgage, you are required to have hazard insurance. Mortgage insurance is different, pertaining only to insuring the actual mortgage in case of default.
