I paid $775 to my small private college for a summer class. In the middle of the summer the school closed due to loss of accredidation and financial trouble, and I was not able to complete the class. The school has since gone into receivership, and they are telling me that other creditors will have to be paid first. Can I file a small claim suit against the college? The receiver?

You may be able to file a small claims lawsuit against the college. You need to contact an attorney and he will guide you further in this regard.
