My husband and I are separating and have a home in both our names that is homesteaded. We also own a mobile home that I plan to move into. Can I homestead this mobile home while we're still married? Or are couples allowed only one residence that is homesteaded?

Welcome tracey,

As far as I can understand, you won't be able to get a homestead for another property until you transfer the homesteaded property in your husband's name. Once your name is removed from that property after your divorce is complete, you can claim homestead on the mobile home.
