Hi edward_gj,

Is your property located in Jakarta or USA? If it's located in Jakarta, then I think you will have to look for a Jakarta based lender who will help you in getting the loan.

Thanks,

Jerry

Thanks for your Information. My property is located in Jakarta, but the bank here offer me 18% interest rate a year and I think is too high. As I know to get a low rate interest must find somewhere out of Indonesia, so I hope anybody who can help me. Thanks

Hi edward_gj,

You can look for banks based in USA who offer overseas mortgage and check if they can offer a mortgage for your property. But as far as I know, it is not mandatory that overseas bank will charge you a low interest rate. The interest rates will depend upon the market situation of Indonesia and the rates prevailing in that country.

Thanks

Hi Dears,
I'hv already try to talk with citibank, standard chartered, hsbc ( hongkong bank) and Abn Amro ( Holland bank ), those bank can not offer a mortgate for my property. They all refered me to a local bank with Indonesion currency also the interest rate that I had mentioned before. Some businessman who has link with International Bank, can get loan by US Dollar and the interest rate is ranged around 6 to 8 %. So I prefer having loan with foreign currency istead of Indonesian currency, the problem is than I don't have that LINK. Thanks

Hi Harsha,

You can look for a personal loan. However, you should note that you will have to pay a high rate of interest for the personal loan.

Thanks,

Jerry

it will be really difficult to lend someone who is from the country other than your home country because

1. changes in govt regulations

2. people won't find it feasible to lend somebody who is not from your country because recovery becomes tedious when it comes to going personally to that country. surely one need to take care of all these things .As in most of the countries garnishment is not allowed.

Hi Dewi!

Welcome to forums!

You can contact lenders who offer personal loans to people. They will help you in getting a personal loan in your name. Other than that, you can also contact your friends and relatives and seek help from them.

Sussane !! i do understand that if someone is in need one must help him but what is the feasibility of the repayment of the money if you are offering the loan to the person who is from different country altogether?

Can we just send the money on "trust" only? Nopp!! there might be some organization who are helping this kind of distressed people, so better we guide them towards these organization as they have proper system to help the people in need and then collect the amount in small installments from the debtor.
