It depends. Is this for allowance? If its for school and weekend money. Maybe 30-50 a week for food at school and weekend money. Really depends on you. Do you let you kid go out on weekend?

You should only give him/her the exact amount he/she need. Or you can buy him/her the things he/she needs

I myself as a parent most often buy everything that is needed for him to go to school. Clothes, shoes, etc etc.... Then i just give him around 20-25 a week for food. Then he can ask for money to go out on weekends with friends if he has done his chores and been good Smile
