Hi Monica,

You need to get in touch with the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) department in your city. You can also contact the office from where you applied for section 8 program. It is difficult to know the exact status of your application from any other source. However, even if you qualify for section 8, it does not mean you will be accepted at any particular building. It will entirely depend on the owner of that particular property.

amber, you need to contact the housing department in the locale where you live. we don't have any connection on this website to section 8 rules, regulations or decisions.

i wonder if section 8 people in municipalities get inquiries about people's mortgage application status.

i am wondering, too, if people walk into emergency rooms at hospitals and ask the receptionist if they can visit with their prisoners; or if they walk into police stations to ask to see the doctor.

it's kinda the same as this, isn't it?

sandy, please go back to the office to which you applied originally and ask that question. here on this forum, we have no way of knowing what your status is - this forum has nothing to do with section 8.

red, you ought to go to your local housing office to ask that question. are you asking for yourself or for someone else?

please note that this site is called "MortgageFit." it is intended to be a community for people who are or desire to be homeowners (or used to be), with professionals in the real estate field also playing a part. it is not intended to be a forum for renters, though those questions come up all the time, and are treated with the proper respect.

honestly, you'll find that the most efficient way to get an answer to your question is to go to the municipality in which you live and ask the housing department.

when someone asks for help on this site, it becomes my business because i am striving to help. however, when the question that comes in is completely out of the scope of this site, it needs to be said. someone looking for section 8 information for a specific situation is not going to get the help needed here. we don't have access to such information, and the person asking needs to go to the local community where the section 8 request was made to begin with.

your post here, guest, is not helpful. it is imperative that someone seeking section 8 assistance know where to go for information. if a person filed in a particular place, that's the place to go for information. i recognize that there are those who lack sophistication and are simply searching for help, but this is not the place where such help can be found. it's that simple.

the "way" i am is to try to help those who need it wherever i can. if you have issues with my stance, there's nothing i can do about it. c'est la guerre.

If you were in a situation that we are in Mr. Loan Consultant you wouldnt be so crappy to everyone on here that was asking about there section 8 apps. you are very rude & if you dont want people commenting & asking questions DONT HAVE A MESSAGE BOX ON YOUR SITE! gosh what jerks we have in the world today! & also maybe if you just IGNORED the ones that were asking instead of having a crappy remark to everything then it wouldnt bother you so much! UGGHH!

sincerely,
your very pissed off reader.

well, you didn't annoy or discourage me, so i suppose that will make you even more angry, kaleigh.

it's painfully obvious that a person seeking help with a section 8 situation needs to go to the locale where the application was filed. that's all i've been trying to say here - how that comes over as "rude" or "crappy" is beyond me.

but we all have our little issues, don't we?
