After I filed my 2007 returns, I received notices of 1099-a and 1099-c related to my principal residence which was foreclosed upon after divorce.

The specifics of the 1099A are: principal balance outstanding $83K, FMV $61K. On the 1099c - amount of debt cancelled = $54K.

Because this is all for tax year 2007, do I have to go back and use the accompanying forms (schedule D and form 982) for 2007 or do I just use the most recent versions?

Hi Guest

I agree with Realgeni. You will have to use the recent version of the forms.

Thanks.
