I bought a timeshare with a friend when we were both single, and on title as single people. my friend wants to quitclaim off the timeshare, what do i need to do in order to do this. We are both married now so if my friend quitclaims off title, i'm not single anymore, so title would be incorrect, right?? Is there a way to have them quitclaim and simultaneously change title from single to my name married sole and seperate or both my spouse and I?

I live in CA and i know Hawaii has their own rules and laws about real estate.

can anyone help?

Hi mauijenn,

Your friend can transfer the property to you by signing a quit claim deed. You and your friend need to contact a real estate attorney who would help you in drafting the deed and filling it out as well. Once you fill out the deed, you need to notarize and record the deed at the county recorder's office.

Thanks
