Hello,

My name is John and I am a 100% service-conneted combat veteran living in California. I was married in January 2010. My wife purchased the home that we now live in back in 2006 prior to us getting married.

MY QUESTION IS:
Can I get my name on the proper document (I'm guessing the deed) so that we can both benefit from my VA benefit that have been afforded to me from my service. Such as property tax reduction?

Thanks in advance for any and all help with my question.

Sincerely,
John Mann

I'd imagine that any municipality that provides for relief from property taxes for vets would allow it if you become an owner of the home.

And, yes, it would be a deed by which you would obtain ownership - generally a quit claim deed will do the job for you. If you want specific answers to that question, though, they're best answered by an attorney.

Hi laurseDus!

Welcome to forums!

This is a mortgage forum and not a car buying forum. It will be better if you contact the right forum to get advice in this regard.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
