interspousal grant deed

After signing an interspousal grant deed, can i still have rights to the property after a divorce or my husband's death under the California state law since i'm still hoping the property is community property??? Is it also true that he won't be able tp purchase a property without my signing the interspousal grant deed since i couldn't be on the loan? Can the interspousal grant deed only be reversed by my husband? and with his specific instructions? and LASTLY, what is the advantage or upside (if any)of signing the interspousal grant deed that i can hold on to for some type of assurance?

I want to see a good answer to your question, too. I have a similar issue. We sold a property that was in my spouse's name. There was a community interest, but during escrow I was told I needed to sign the Grant Deed which I did. Did this give the spouse all rights to the proceeds? Of note there is a phrase on the deed "for valuable consideration". Does that mean anything?

To camycat,

As far as I know, once you sign the inter-spousal deed, you lose the ownership to the property. That property will be considered your husband's separate property. Yes, your husband can reverse the inter-spousal deed and add your name to the property deed.

To eagle,

If you signed the grant deed and removed your name from the property, then you are no longer the owner of the property.
