Hi, I was wondering what you do after you get an interspousal transfer deed notarized. Do you file it at the court house and they automatically change the title of the property then and send you confirmation of it? I am in CA and would like to know if filing and recording are the same thing? Thank you

Hi jerryg!

Welcome to forums!

You will have to file the deed at the county recorder's office. Once you record the deed at the county recorder's office, the deed will be considered as valid. Filing and recording the deed is all the same.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
