He has an H1B work visa, good for 6 years and renewable for another six if he does not receive his green card in that time. I am on the HB visa, just spousal, so I can live here without working. My husband makes more than enough for the down payment and monthly payments, but we're wondering if our being Canadian citizens on work visas will affect our ability to get a mobile home mortgage? We're aware that it is perfectly fine with a regular mortgage, but are looking at mobile homes as they're more affordable.

You will have to contact the local lenders who will offer mobile home loans and check out the fact with them. They will be able to let you know whether or not you can get a mortgage. If they are unable to give you a loan, you'll have to go for personal property loan in order to buy the property. Feel free to ask if you've further queries. Sussane
