In April of 2004, My husband has add me to the Grant deed to the house that I am currently living in. This was notarized in April of 2004, but never recorded. Can I still take Deed to the County recorders office & is it legal & binding.

Thanks Confused

Hi

Every state has a different time limit within which the deed needs to be recorded in order to be considered as valid. You need to check it with your local county recorders office. However, 4 years time is a long time and the unrecorded deed may have lost its validity. In that case, you can ask your husband to add you to the title through another deed and have it recorded with the recorders office to validate it.
