hello, I live in California.
I am buying a house.
Only my name is on the mortgage.
She quitclaim her 50% of the house to me.
is she responsible for the mortgage, should anything happen to me?? |

No. If she is not on the loan, then she is not obligated to the mortgage payment. But if the mortgage is not taken care of, she can lose the home.

thanks for the quick reply. Californian law is a little confusing. I just don't want the bank to come after her should anything happen to me.

Yeah, I live here. Confusing for sure.
Just to clarify, they won't come after her financially, but if the home loan is not taken care of, she will be kicked. out.
