hello, I live in California.
I am buying a house.
Only my name is on the mortgage.
She quitclaim her 50% of the house to me.
is she responsible for the mortgage, should anything happen to me?? |

No. If she is not on the loan, then she is not obligated to the mortgage payment. But if the mortgage is not taken care of, she can lose the home. _________________ Ashley Blanton

thanks for the quick reply. Californian law is a little confusing. I just don't want the bank to come after her should anything happen to me.

Yeah, I live here. Confusing for sure.
Just to clarify, they won't come after her financially, but if the home loan is not taken care of, she will be kicked. out.
