I have a purchase contract for a brand new $390K house in Vacaville California. I also have a HECM certificate for that house. I am looking for a better deal than I can get from Wells Fargo who want $500 for an appraisal that is solely for THEIR benefit. Can you offer a lender that will absorb or waive the appraisal fee. Perhaps someone trying to break into the Reverse Mortgage field.

Hi paulp!

Welcome to forums!

I personally do not know about any lender who will waive off the appraisal fee while giving you a reverse mortgage. This community has a large number of lenders. You can seek a no obligation free mortgage quote from them and get to know what type of rates and terms you may receive.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

The appraisal is to yours and the lenders benefit (although more for the lender) - it protects you from overpaying for the home, and prevents the lender from lending too much based on the home's value. Now you may perceive the value of the home to be more than the appraised value, but the lender is the one ponying up the money.

If I was getting a reverse mortgage I'd definitely choose the services of Raymond. I've referred several customers to him and they have all been extremely happy with his service.
