He purchased them in a sealed bid tax auction in CA. He paid for them, and put my sister and I on the deed 7 years ago and we did not know about it until a collection agencey claims we owe for past maintance fees. Are we legally responsible for the annual maintance fees?

Hi paul,

If the properties are in your and your sister's name, then both of you will be liable for paying off the maintenance fees for those properties.

Thanks
