| i signed a deed 16 years ago to my brother it was his house but couldnt sell it for what he wanted so we made a deal he wanted a quitclaim in case somthing happened there were 3 people on tilte at that time we all signed it 10yrs later he told me the house was mine refinace so i did and took off 1 of the persons on title now he wants it back 16 yrs of paying for it what can i do about this am in california |

Hi Guest,
Your brother cannot force you to sign a quitclaim deed if you are one of the owners of the property. It would be your discretion whether or not you want to transfer the property to your brother. If your brother is forcing you for a transfer, then you should consult an attorney and take legal actions against him.

Though your brother had a quitclaim deed, he had transferred it to you and then you must have refinanced the property. In such a situation, you are the owner of the property right now. Thus, he won't be able to force you to transfer the property to him. _________________ Good is the Enemy of Great. |
