if my wife and i are on the deed, but only my name is on the loan documents, is she responsible for the debt (mortgage)?...state is California

Hi vanlee,

If your wife's name is not on the mortgage documents, then she won't be held responsible for the mortgage. The lender will not come after her to collect the dues if you have defaulted the payments.
