Hi Colin, would it make a differance if resposibility for house payment was assigned to my ex in divorce on the forecloser?

Hi Colin,Thanks for your response to my question regarding this whole foreclosure mess. What are the advantages of deed in lieu? would I pay less tax? I'm wanting to try to work with their loss mitigation department again. They said yesterday that I would have to list the property for sale for at least 60 days in order for them to consider a deed in lieu at all. At least I got a somewhat hopeful answer from them this time. But really, what are the advantages to deed in lieu?

Colin, That sounds like good news. Now how is the house sold? Is it auctioned? How will that affect my credit, will it show up like a forclosure?Hi Atlanta, As a co-owner you have legal right to start a partition lawsuit (it is called as compulsory partition) and he cannot contest it. The court will be bound to have the house sold and value received from sale distributed among the co-owners.
