Sasha, These days very few lenders service the loans they write. I just signed loan application papers today with Eagle Nationwide which included a doc acknowledging that I understood that they would sell this loan to another serving agency. If you want to have your loan to stay with the lender I recommend that you call your local community banks. Some may hold and service the loans they make, otherwise expect to have any loan you make to be bundled with others and sold.

Most of the mortgage companies are into loan modification. Call their customer service department and get the first hand information.

I was told, by Mr. Ken Raboin, that Eagle Mort. is working with the Government. The come on to me is... "Our Records Indicate you are eligible for the FHA Streamline progrom." I was promised a 51/2% loan due to the new government program helping recent FHA borrowers

be very skeptical mark...you got a phantom phone call from someone who couldn't possibly tell you that you're qualified for anything without having received all income and asset documents from you, along with a credit report and an appraisal of your home. believe that if nobody has visited your home to do an appraisal, there's no way this company or mr. rabion can know the value of your home at this time.

be careful - you're being sold a bill of goods.

Just an FYI... Streamline loans, IRRL (Interest Rate Reduction Loans) etc do not require appraisals or income verification.

good catch darrin...i know that to be true, but i erred in suggesting that mark might expect to see an appraiser visiting his home.

thanks...and my apologies, mark.

I worked with them for a VA streamline and they promised: a refi to a lower interest rate, refunded escrow, two months without a mortgage and a 14-day escrow

I got: a lower interest rate (good), no escrow refund due to an error in calculating my loan amount, ONE month without a mortgage payment and a 60-day escrow.

They suck and failed to meet their promises!!

My husband and I had a terrible time with Eagle. We worked with one rep who disappeared after we sent in our financial documentation. We had already paid over $400 for an appraisal which came back at a decent price and we thought we were on our way to refinancing. After weeks of trying to track this person down with never a return phone call we finally got through to the main office. Our emails went unacknowledged as well. Turns out this rep left the company and no one took over our refi, leaving all our finances to sit somewhere in their offices. After a long and frustrating process the new rep told us the person we had been working with ordered the wrong appraisal for the FHA loan we were looking to refi with. Basically we were out $400, no refi, and a ton of wasted time and energy. We repeatedly asked for a copy of the appraisal and never received anything. I would not recommend them after what we went through. Presently we are working with a much better company who returns all of our calls...I am not done with Eagle, I feel someone over there needs to answer to the $400 we spent on the wrong appraisal...and we should at least have a copy of what we paid for, whether it's worth anything or not...just my opinion...

guest, your opinion is certainly warranted, and i'm glad to hear you're not done dealing with them to get satisfaction.

it's hard for the company in the first place to deal with a customer who's been abandoned by a loan officer, but that's no excuse for them treating you like strangers. there was probably little communication between that departing loan officer and the company, and that's obviously led to the poor service.

nevertheless, i'm not making excuses for the company, and i applaud your stick-toitiveness in attempting to get a refund; or, at least, a copy of the appraisal that was done.

I also used Lending Tree to source bank choices and Eagle Nationwide rep (Joseph Mioranza from Ohio) E-mailed me by Monday and called to confirm I recieved E-mail on Tuesday. He seems very knowledgeable and trustworthy. He sounds very honest about fees and thier rates. I have never heard of Eagle, but we expect to offer them our business due to his strong first impression and how competitive they seem. More TBA.

see? a knowledgeable and trustworthy loan officer is valuable. to know who you're dealing with is critical.

despite our lack of knowledge of a company, the real deal is knowing your loan officer. companies crumble and companies change; loan officers may migrate from one company to another, but they remain the same.
