I have been dealing with Eagle Nationwide out of Maryland since March. They have been awful. So far they have repetitively asked for documents they already have. They have mixed up our file with my Father’s file. He has a different SSN, lives in a city 100 miles away, and has a different loan amount. Approved us for a loan different then the one we requested. Never keep us informed of the loan progress. I have to call them only to be told that” the loan is in processing and they will check on it. I’ll call you in 15 minutes”. Days will go bye with no call back. I just called again today and was given the same lame excuse. I am so frustrated that I just have to find another broker or I will go insane. I have invested $400 for an appraisal and almost 5 months of time. My wife and I have great incomes and credit is in the 700’s, so I don’t think that’s the problem. I just can’t understand how incompetent and lazy these people are. If you are thinking of using these people, I beg, beg, beg you to reconsider. I'm a first time homebuyer, going thru Eagle Nationwide and I have to say that they are making this process a NIGHTMARE!!! Less than 24hrs before the scheduled closing I found out the underwriter lost important information and that I wasn't closing as planned. Since this came to the surface, they don't answer calls or respond to emails. I've had to get the office manager and VP involved. I still don't have a closing date ... I'm homeless ... and the seller is being screwed too. Everyone involved with this transaction is being hit hard financially and emotionally, and these people just don't care about the negative impact that they are having on our lives.

I have been dealing with them with a BBB issue. THe president has defended this employee for his lying...I would not recommend them to anyone. PLease stay away from them and run for the hills if contacted by them

The BBB only rates Eagle Nationwide a C on a scale of A-F. They said they did now have enough info on them. Not sure of what to do.
the better business bureau is not the only source of information about a company's reputation and service record. not only that, but the bbb has come under fire of late for giving wonderful marks to those who belong and not-so-good marks to those who do not. a little favoritism there, maybe?
i think public opinion is a strong influencer of people's actions - and it ought to be that way. i wouldn't run down eagle financial myself, as i have no experience with the company. however, there seems to be a lot of issues that arise, based on what we've seen on this thread. _________________ George M. Some of the brokers that work for the company are LIARS....and since you never know which ones are the good ones...avoid them all. We worked a broker that told us for months that he could get the job done. We finally found a house and we set to go...the broker never submitted the loan application even after he took the money for the processing fee. He kept telling us that everything was fine. Good thing that I had a realtor who had connections...she found out that he never did his job.

I had a horrible experience with Eagle Nationwide Mortgage Co. just recently. I was lucky, and had not signed anything so I was able to back out. I was applying for an FHA Streamline Refinance, and they wanted me to give out my credit card number over the phone before I had even signed anything so they could do a "drive-by" appraisal. FHA Streamline Refinances DO NOT REQUIRE an appraisal under most situations!!! I know because I contacted 5 other mortgage companies, and they all told me that I do NOT require an appraisal. Stay away from Eagle!!!

I just an offer for re-fi on my VA from them for 3.75%. I am wondering if I want to go through a hassle with them to see what their final offer will be or not.
okay...back to business...a rate of 3.75% sounds awfully good for a fixed rate loan, but i have to think you'll pay substantially in points to get there. of course, it could be a variable rate loan - still a good rate, as long as you know what you're getting into on it.
based on everyone's comments (almost everyone), i think i would have to wonder about a hassle also. _________________ George M. Akerley

Eagle nationwide mortgage gave me best rate(4.75%) when compared to other lenders. Anyone have bad experiences with them recently? Are they well known? I got a call from them through my LendingTree application

NewYorkPT...Some people have had a good experience with Eagle Nationwide where has some had a bad experience with them. But then, they are a known company. If you want to take a loan from them, you should be careful enough and check out for the terms and conditions of the loan in detail. Moreover, it's you who will have to decide whether or not you would be able to afford the loan. If you can afford the loan, then you should go ahead with it.

I have recently had a bad experience with eagle nationwide mortgage and their representative Jeff Judge. I applied for a refinance on an existing VA loan. The Offer sent to me in the mail was for the refinance of my property at 4.5% fixed for 30 yrs plus an energy loan of $6000.00 to install energy efficient windows. I was also offered none payment of mortgage for a two month period after closeing which would have amounted to over 3500.00 After several months , a closing date was tentatively set and when I requested to review the conditions and terms before closeing I was told that the 4.5% rate had be changed to 5% but I had not been informed and that the energy loan was no longer on the table. As I was currently at 5.5% I asked if the interest rate went up and the energy credit was off the table why hadn't I been informed. The answer I recieved was that the original mortgage company that was offering the 4.5% and the energy had gone out of busisness. This meant that they had to find a different lender but again I asked why hadn't I been informed. I feel that I was not serviced well. I believe that a bait and switch was instituted and had I not inquired it was the intent of Eagle nationwide mortgage and their representative Jeff Judge to not inform me of any of these changes until at the closing. In anticipation of the closing I did commit to expenditures that I could have postpond and now have created a finacial quagmire for me that was unnecessary. After inquiring why I had not be notified in advance of these major changes Jeff Judge said that to compensate me for my inconvience the company was willing to drop the interst rate to 4.75% but that the energy loan was no longer on the table. I told Jeff that this was unacceptable and I did not see any reason to proceed further as the offer they are making has no resemblence to what they offered. I am very dissappointed and only say watch closely before signing and make sure that the terms haven't changed. _________________ Need help choosing the right loan? I just received a letter from Eagle stating that I'm eligible for this program. After reading this forum it looks like I'm going to stay away from this company.
Does anyone know of another reliable source that offers this program?
Should I inquire with my current mortgage company.....Bank of America (formerly Countrywide) ?
