Hi Jackiep,

Welcome to the forum.

Global Gold is a company who offer credit cards without any security deposit or without even verification of income. So, even if you have no credit, you will face no problem in getting a credit card from this company.

But to know whether this company is reliable or not, you can check it out with the BBB at http://www.bbb.org/complaint.asp

It is not a credit card - it is a shopping card....also, there isn't much credit involved, as you have to make a major down payment on the purchase...a small balance will be sent to the credit account. Lastly, now they have jammed two other forced options into the promotion. Read carefully as your Social and Credit Card info is probably being forwarded without your knowledge. Spread the word, this one has scam written all over it....the other two companies are Vcomm and ID Watchdog

Global Gold aka First National Gold aka First Plus Platinum aka First Universal Platinum is a total scam. This is the reason the company goes by so many different names. If you look they all have the awarecart.com in their online address. They are a Rip-Off. They make you believe you are paying $2.78 for a credit account, but they hide a bunch of hidden charges at the bottom of the page, most of the time with a size 6 or 8 font. There is not even a checkbox that you have seen the other addon offers. They will automatically charge you for VComm voicemail service and ID Watchdog. So check your accounts, because most likely there are charges there. These products are not even in the Terms and Conditions but hidden at the bottom of the screen, way below the submit button. I believe that all 3 of these things are actually the same company hiding behind other names. I have taken screenshots of all 4 of these sites and I have filed complaints with the BBB and FTC. I promise I will not stop fighting until I see justice for these liars. They use misleading advertising, which will be prosecuted by the FTC. If you feel like you were frauded or scammed by these guys I urge you to complain to the FTC. 1-877-382-4357, or you can also contact Raymond E. McKown, FTC Western Region, Los Angeles 310-824-4325

Hi Jenn.

Welcome to the forum.

It is good that you have shared the information with us. There are other companies who have different names and doing scam like Geneva Roth. There are so many complaints against them. You can have a look at them at http://www.mortgagefit.com/know-how/about5836.html

Best of luck,
Larry

Hi Swatson,

I must say you've indeed done a lot of research on these guys. And I hope it helps all who've ever thought of dealing with them.

Indeed that was a great piece of information from your end. It speaks of how illegal practices are increasing day by day and affecting innocent people who think of signing a deal with a creditor/lender.

Take Care

I worked for this company for a while... and was very upset on how they made their money. But what can I do? I need the job to support my family.

The company (Vertek group, Vantex Group, Global Gold, Aware CRM, and a couple other I dont know about) are real physical companies with different locations and different owners (kinda) all are owned by a family. The original company was vertek and that company to my knowledge is no longer running because the founder was put in prison for a scam. He'll be there for life. After that, they formed vantex group which is a "marketing" company with only one customer.... Global Gold Inc. The owners of the two companies are brother and sister. Ther also own some call centers located overseas... to provide "customer service" they pay higher for employess that have little or no accents to provide "better" service.

Follow carefully cuz here's where it gets really shady... Global Gold has different sub companies that they affectionately call skins.. they have DOZENS of them... some of which you guys know about already such as first plus platinum or first national gold, or premier plus member or centennial one platinum. Recent projects has been the inclusioj of "health care" products like acai berry and colon cleansing. acaitotalburn.com and totalhealthcleanse.com are just a couple examples... like I said they have DOZENS UPON DOZENS of "SKINS" they were in the process of creating another company called dragon group inc. which is designed to be the parent company of global gold, and also in the process of scuttling vantex and moving assets over to global gold. IDWatchdog is to the best of my knowledge is just an affliate company that they do business with, and vcomm, vcomm unlimited, vcomm300 are all just different "skins" for the company.

You guys pretty much figured out how they do business and make money.... luring you into a free trial that isn't actually free and sign you up for a couple different things that is very difficult to cancel.... you cancel one but you'll be signed up for the others, unless you cancel those too. They will try and convince you that they can only refund the last month or the none at all and they cant refund the "free trial" charge, but fact is you can get all your money back if you are persistent enough... the compan gets charged a 25 dollar fee for each chargeback that your credit card company disputes, so they would rather pay you your money back and lose you rather than pay that money back anyways plus 25 per charge if you dispute it with your card company. To them you are just one fish in the sea.

There is some good news to all of this for you guys though... about a week ago, the FTC along with las vegas metropolitan police department, came into the office and siezed all of the company's assets.... and I mean all. including bank accounts. The owners have acquired plenty of money doing this and will probably fight this tooth and nail and will try and establish another company under a different name in the future. If you ever met these people you would never know they are capable of this as they are very nice and polite people, not to mention religious. At least you guys can rejoice for now... thanks to all your efforts... but let you be warned... please keep up your efforts becasue they will more than likely rebuild if they dont get checked. Even though they got shut down and hence losing my job, I am glad that I am not part of this anymore. They lead us employess to believe that everything was being legally and I honestly dont know if it is or not... but even how they explain how its done.... like it is the customers fault they didnt read the terms and conditions... is still regardless of legally right or not is defenitely morally and ethically wrong. I sincerely apologize for all your troubles.
