Hi Scott,

Your credit report definitely needs to get checked regularly. This will prevent your from any fraud.

As you may know identity fraud is a growing concern today. In this case a person cheats you of your good credit by taking over or opening accounts in your name, maintaining huge balances, and making you to deal with the collectors at the time of repayment.

It will take long before you can understand that you have fallen in a trap and by that the major damage would be done. So it is better to check your report regularly so that you can prevent any such fraud case.

Any inaccurate entries or non updated records may damage your report. To find out if there is any such mistakes; you need to have a track of your report on regular basis.

So try to keep a track of your report so that it is never too late for you to find out that some discrepancy is there with your report.

God bless you.

Hi Scott,

Welcome again.

Normally it takes some time for new information to get updated and for removal of your old report. So, you can check it after every 90 days to keep a track.

Feel free to ask any more queries.

God bless you.

If I could jump in??

If I could suggest that you get on a monthly credit monitoring program. These programs will monitor any changes to your report and notify you immediately. The sooner you know about any credit changes the better off you may be as far as disputing the change (if its not yours or incorrect).
These programs hold a small fee (like 5.00-10.00/month) which is well worth it because of what it may cost you if fraud occurs.

Like Samantha said, these days fraud is on the rise and you can protect yourself with a monitoring program.

BTW: myfico.com is an example of one that offers this program.
