Hi Guest,

You can have a credit score even if you don't have a credit card. If you manage a mortgage or any other loan, you will be able to maintain a credit score. If you make regular payments on the loan, you are likely to have a good credit score.

You can also have credit score depending on whether you open a bank account, phone bill account, gas or electricity account.

Thanks,

Sara

Hi Guest,

There are different types of credit scores, which are calculated based on various factors. So, managing a credit card isn't the only way to determine your credit score.

Records of bank accounts, payday loan payments, installment purchase plans, are some of the factors determining your score. Besides, payment history in terms of rent, home loans, payment of phone or utility bills, insurance payments are often taken into account while calculating the credit score.

The factors considered for calculating the credit score actually depend upon the company providing the score.

Thanks,

Caron.

yeah, there can be credit scores even with no credit cards. the PRBC score takes into account the rent payments, monthly payments on home loan and utility etc.
