My husband and I are separated he owns a house with my name on it and I own a house with his name on it. He is claiming bankruptcy and I'm not, how does this effect my credit, my house and me altogether????

Hi TNT,

Your credit won't be affected though your husband files for bankruptcy. However, if both the houses have mortgages on it in joint names, then you will become liable for paying them as your husband will receive a discharge from it.

Thanks
