Does anyone know what to do if you have disputed and the results are still the same. Do they just take the creditors word for it, this does not seem fair.

What would ones next steps be if this is happening? Is there any form of appeal on this matter?

Hi Jbrato,

Is it that your creditor submitted wrong information on your credit report? I think you should better talk to the creditor and fix the problem.

The consumer reporting company and the information provider both are responsible to correct the inaccurate information in your credit report. so you should tell the consumer reporting company in writing that the information is inaccurate and you should also include the documents to support your position.

Hope it helps.

Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

Best of luck,
Larry

Welcome to our world. I see this all the time. Order a free credit report from the reporting bureau(s) that is reporting the inaccurate information and then send then a written dispute. They have 30-45 days to correct the issue with the creditor. Providing evidence that what they are reporting in not correct will also help.

I have filed the disputes with equifax and they sent me results stating that the information was updated but it still looks the same to me on the report. I guess I will have to sit down and write a longer letter to them why I feel this is wrong. The creditor and I are at odds so they will not do anything to clear this up either. thanks for all the advice, I will update you as this progresses.

What is it that they are reporting wrong? Your best bet is probaly the letter to the creditor but I thought this is what the dispute process was for. Don't you hate when someone makes such a crucial error and then you have to go through so much to right what is wrong. Good luck.

you will want to contact the credit agencies themselves, miss brazil. you have the right to dispute the items that appear, and they can assist you in that.
