i,m talking to a company to modify the value of my house from my lender.They want me to stop paying my mortgage till they finish the process with the help of thier attorneys .Will this effect my sons student loans ?as its his last quarter before he graduates I,m desperate to get the mortgage payments lowered please advise.

The attorney is asking you to stop paying the mortgage dues because, lenders will only go for a loan modification if you have defaulted on your payments. I don't think a loan modification will affect the student loan in any way.
