Hi there… in 2007, I called 911 for an ambulance ride to the hospital. I was working at the time and had pretty good medical benefits. All the hospital bills were covered minus some of the usual user prices. Somehow I think the ambulance bill never went to the insurance company. I didn't know it until I ran my credit reports this year. I've already disputed them and they didn't go away. I don't work at the same place anymore and have new insurance benefits now. Can anyone tell me if there's a way out of paying this to get it resolved and/or off my reports? The debt shows up as 'Validated' on my credit reports after my online dispute. I've also re-disputed it in writing to the Bureaus.
If the debt has been validated, then it means that you own the debt account. As far as I can understand, you will have to contact your original insurance company with your old job and find out why they didn't pay the debt. If a bill was sent to your insurance company, they should have a record as to what the disposition was.
Hi Maira!
Welcome to forums!
Well, in my opinion, it will be tough to get the item removed from your credit report now. Moreover, it will be difficult for you to get an insurance company to pay a bill that is 5 years old.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
