I just disputed a paid in full account with credit bureau because it showed a 90 day late thinking they would just remove the 90 day late and leave the account but they deleted the whole account.Did I just lower my credit score

Hi Guest!

Welcome to forums!

The credit bureau should not have deleted the whole account from your credit report. They should have only updated the status of your account from a 90 day late to a "paid in full" account. Had this account remained on your credit report, it would have positively affected you credit score. There are chances that the deletion of the account will affect your credit score in a negative way. I would suggest you to purchase your credit report and check out whether or not your credit score got affected due to this.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

don't waste your money on purchasing your credit score. did you know what the score was to begin with? i would think that the elimination of the 90 day late reference would actually work in your favor. how much other derogatory information did you have? how much other favorable information was there? all these things are critical, as you must know. it just doesn't seem right that continuing to have a 90-day late reported would be of benefit to you.

If the Creditor didn't respond to your inquiry within 30 days, the account will be deleted. You score could decrease if that account was one you've had for a long time, because longevity results in a higher score. However, if that particular tradeline had numerous dings, removing it could result in a higher score. The only way to know is by knowing what the FICO score was prior to the deletion, and afterwards.
